Superconducting cables
Superconducting cables produced by SuperOx has unique current-carrying characteristics on the superconductor market, which allows to use them in high-field magnets, current-carrying equipment and other components.
The technology allows to produce 700-m long high temperature superconductor wires with a minimum number of joints and high strength. More detailed information is available in user guide.
The use of superconducting power cables in megacities and industrial applications will add to the worldwide efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
The application of HTS power cables to improve efficiency of large power systems has commenced about a decade ago. Today, several multi-megawatt cables are under daily operation in Germany, Korea, USA, China and Japan, helping to reduce environmental impact. Significant energy loss reduction can be achieved also by using HTS cables in electrolysis plants and in high-current output systems of large power plants.
